LaSalle Police are sending out a warning about another phone scam.

They say that a local resident got a call from a rather aggressive person by the name of Patrick Bell, who told her that if she did not pay almost $1,500 in 20 minutes of the phone call her husband would be arrested and put in jail.

The resident was told that she could pay at either Western Union or at a bank. He told her that if she decided to pay from the bank then it would cost an extra $800.

She was told to call him back at 450-977-5706 with payment details, and that she was to make the payment to Calvin Nikolai of Edmonton.

Instead LaSalle Police called the number back and spoke to Patrick Bell, who had nothing to say and hung up.

Police say this phone number has been identified on the internet by others as being involved in similar scams.
