Two people from Windsor face drug charges after an accident on Sunday.

OPP say the accident involving two vehicles happened around 9am Highway 401 westbound, near Victoria Road.

A westbound Mazda car had attempted to pass a westbound Volvo tractor trailer. The Mazda struck the Volvo, left the roadway and came to rest in the centre median.

Subsequent OPP investigation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana. The occupants of the Mazda, 26 year old driver, Shaka Burke, and 23-year-old passenger, Simona Ingilizova, both from Windsor, have been charged with possession of marihuana, over 30 grams. The driver has also been charged with careless driving and driving while under suspension.

They will appear in a Chatham court on March 15, 2015, to answer to the charges.

No injuries were reported.
