Survivors and their families gather for the Essex-Windsor EMS Annual Survivor Day ceremony at St. Clair Centre for the Arts.

Last February, Alexander Yaschuk experienced a cardiac arrest while he was at the casino. At the time he had no recollection of what happened. But Yaschuk was very thankful to everyone who played a role in his survival.

A large crowd gathered today to acknowledge and celebrate the past year’s cardiopulmonary arrest survivors for the annual Essex-Windsor EMS Survivor Day at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts.

Survivors and their families joined police, paramedics, firefighters and bystanders to be awarded for providing assistance in saving the lives of those who have dealt with cardiac arrest.

Over 40 cardiac arrest cases throughout the past year were acknowledged.  Hands were shook, hugs were given and personal experiences like Yaschuk’s were shared.

Alexander Yaschuk shares his experience to those gathered.
