Windsor Police need the public’s help to identify a woman who allegedly tried on a diamond ring and fled the store.

Police say the woman and man entered Peoples Jewellers at Devonshire Mall just after noon on Wednesday.

They went in separate directions in the store and the woman approached the employee at the counter and requested to view a selection of diamond rings, according to police.

Police say the suspect tried on a ring and was eventually asked to remove the ring from her finger but she refused and then fled the store. The male also fled the store moments later when confronted by a sales associate, say police.

The woman was described as a white female, 18-20 years old, 155cm, slender build, shoulder length blonde hair, wearing a winter coat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), online at www.catchcrooks.com.
