Children’s Games In Windsor Named ‘Tourism Event Of The Year’

The 2013 International Children’s Games, which Windsor hosted, has been selected as the Tourism Event of the Year in Ontario.

Windsor and Essex County brought home the award at the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario’s “2014 Tourism Industry Awards of Excellence” event in Collingwood, Thursday evening.

Organizers say ICG was singled out for its focus on increasing visitor satisfaction, economic spend, long-term impact on the region and giving 5,000 visitors an unforgettable experience and an introduction to all the region has to offer.

“Our world-class facilities combined with an outstanding organizational team and our exceptional hospitality positions us well to host future international events,” said Mayor Eddie Francis.

ICG was held between August 14th and 19th 2013.
