A Windsor man was airlifted to hospital after a serious single car crash on the 401 Monday.

Police say that for reasons unknown at this time, a Pontiac minivan travelling westbound on Highway 401 left the roadway, entered the centre median and then back into the westbound lanes, where it came to a rest on its side on the highway, around 8am Monday.

There were three male occupants in the minivan. One of the passengers, 33-year-old Israfil Kilic from Windsor, was ejected from the vehicle. He remains in a London hospital in critical condition

The driver, 37 years old, and the other passenger, 32 years old, both from North York, were trapped inside the vehicle. Officers and EMS personnel at scene assisted in freeing them from the vehicle. Both have now been transferred to a London hospital are are listed in critical condition

The investigation is ongoing.
