Windsor firefighters battled two blazes Wednesday.

Crews were called to a home in the 2100 block of Secord in the Bridgeview area, just after 10am.

Firefighters found flames in the basement and smoke pouring out of the house.

The blaze was brought under control and two people were taken to hospital for observation.

The fire caused $140,000 and originated in the basement. Investigators could not determine how it started.

Then just before 1:30pm, firefighters were called to an apartment building at 1176 Ouellette.

Crews found heavy smoke on the third floor and quickly put out the blaze.

One person was taken to the hospital with injuries.

There’s no word what the cause was.
