Windsor firefighters fought a house fire near the Ambassador Bridge, Tuesday evening.

Crews were called to 400 block of Indian Road around 6:40pm and found smoke drifting from the attic. Firefighters set up aerial firefighting operations and scaled the side of the vacant, boarded up home with ladders.

After peeling off plywood, crews were able to hit the fire from through an upper storey window, but not before flames began eating through the roof, visible to onlookers.

Windsor Fire says no one was injured in the fire.

Police say the fire was an arson and that the arsonist forced through a rear door. Police are asking anyone with information to call.
