A cup of coffee cost a Belle River woman more than she expected Tuesday night.

Just after 6:30pm a Chatham-Kent Police officer was travelling westbound on Park Avenue in a marker police cruiser. A woman also westbound, turned right from the centre lane attempting to enter the Tim Hortons parking lot causing a collision between her vehicle and the cruiser.

No one was injured. Total damages were estimated at $3,500.

The 20-year-old Belle River woman was charged with making an unsafe turn.
