A Windsor woman has been charged after a crash on the 401 near Charing Cross Road this morning.

Police say the accident happened around 9:30am when an Infinity SUV, carrying two females, one male and a dog, was traveling eastbound in the right lane moved into the left lane and struck a Toyota Solara, carrying two males, which was traveling eastbound beside it.

The collision caused the SUV to flip over. Both vehicles came to rest in the centre median.

The 75-year-old female driver of the SUV, has been charged with change lane not in safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Both left lanes of the westbound and eastbound lanes were closed approximately 200 metres in each direction for a short time while Emergency crews attended at the scene.

Minor injuries were reported and the parties were released at scene.

No injuries were reported on the dog.
