Downtown Windsor Launches Shopping Contest

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association recently launched a new social media contest.

The 30 Days of Shopping contest encourages visitors to snap a picture of items that can be purchased downtown for a chance to win a $100 voucher to any retailer in the city centre.

Contestants enter by posting a picture on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter; tagging or identifying the respective business; and using the hashtag #downtownwindsor.

“By highlighting retail stores, this contest engages our many visitors and demonstrates that downtown Windsor is a shopping destination,” said DWBIA Chair Larry Horwitz. “We hope to build and expand the program to include businesses within the tourism, hospitality and service sectors.”

The contest began on August 1st and runs for a 30 days ending on August 30th.

At the conclusion of the contest, one winner will be selected at random, and will be awarded a $100 voucher to be used at a retailer of their choice located within the Downtown Windsor BIA’s boundaries.
