Windsor Police have charged 18-year-old Adam Moroz after he allegedly tweeted Wednesday that he was planning to shoot up Riverside Secondary School.

Moroz was arrested Thursday morning at the school after students were alarmed by his tweet.

The tweet also allegedly stated that the lives of anyone wearing red shirts would be spared.

There were no injuries at the school, which was locked down, and Moroz was arrested without incident.

Police were first made aware of the twitter threat on Thursday and that since the threats pertained to violence at school, police took action.

Police say the online threat resulted in a “massive mobilization of police resources”.

Moroz is charged with conveying a threat, a charge which under the Criminal Code, if convicted, carries a punishment of up to five years in prison.
