The “world’s leading coffee buying guide” has given top honours to a coffee roasted right here in Windsor.
Whipsaw Coffee, produced by local coffee expert and owner of Salute Espresso Bar Dane Charles, received a 93 rating in Coffee Review for its Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee.
Coffee Review called Whipsaw’s Yirgacheffe “intensely and complexly floral…rounded by a caramelly chocolate” and “aromatic fireworks full on; in fact, full tilt.”
“The recognition is great,” says Charles, “but more importantly, it shows that we’re accomplishing what we set out to do, and that’s to bring really great coffee to Windsor-Essex.”
Whipsaw’s also took home bragging rights for its Rosewood Espresso Blend which placed in the top 16 in America’s Best Espresso Competition in Chicago earlier this year.
You can try Whipsaw’s coffee at Salute Espresso Bar in Walkerville (Wyandotte at Argyle, lower) or check them out online.
