Weapons Related Arrest Made In Downtown Stabbing Investigation

Windsor Police have made an arrest in relation to this weekend’s fatal stabbing that killed 19-year-old Gautham (Kevin) Kugathasanin in downtown Windsor early Saturday morning.

Police say they have charged 30-year-old Ali Mahmoud Ahmed of Windsor.

Ahmed is charged with possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose. Police say that he has been released on a promise to appear. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

The investigation is still in its primary stages and investigators are still looking over video footage as well as interviewing several witnesses before laying additional charges.

Police are still asking the public to call if they have any information in relation to this investigation.
