Police have two men in custody after an investigation into a makeshift campsite in a green space located south of the 2000 block of Spring Garden Road.
Police went to the wooded area, which is on City of Windsor property, and spoke with a 36-year-male who exited a tent. Police say it was apparent that the male had been established in the bush for some time.
Officers discovered several items strewn around the site including an e-bike, chain saw, ladder, wheel barrow, gas generator, several tool sets including drills and socket sets.
Windsor Police say they had investigated a number of break and enters in the area between August 5th and August 31st. Residents also came forward indicating items have been taken from their sheds.
Police conducted an investigation to try to establish ownership of the property discovered in the area.
The investigation led to another residence in the 2200 block of Yorktown where it was discovered that the male was bringing additional property to the campsite with the assistance of his 33-year-old friend.
Through investigation, police were able to confirm that items of property at both locations were stolen.
Jordan Robinson, 33 years of age, was arrested by Windsor Police for Possession of Stolen Property.
Kevin Emisch, 36 years of age, who was discovered at the camp site, was arrested by LaSalle Police Service on another matter. Windsor Police have charged him with 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with a Condition of Judicial Release.
