Windsor Police arrested a 32-year-old man after they say he allegedly hacked a woman’s facebook account and posted sexually explicit language indicating she was a stripper and a prostitute.
The 20-year-old victim first reported the incident to Windsor Police last November and indicated her account had been compromised on October 14th 2012.
Police say the suspect assumed the victim’s facebook identity to maliciously and publicly defame her reputation. The suspect gained access to photos of the victim and according to police, posted them with sexually explicit language that indicated that the victim was employed at a local strip club and that she was a prostitute for hire.
Police say the suspect changed permissions on the account and several hundred friendships and new contacts were created to perpetuate the abuse. Derogatory conversations with family members, friends, peers, and strangers were allegedly engaged by the suspect who passed himself off as the victim knowing the statements were false.
Police say the victim was let go by her employer due to the facebook postings. Police say she was reinstated at work after investigators spoke with her employer.
This type of activity on the account continued as recently as September 7th of this year.
On Monday September 16th Windsor Police executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Bruce Avenue and arrested a suspect.
