Two Arrested After Suspects Break Into House As Homeowners Were Painting

Windsor police have two in custody after a break in Sunday afternoon in the 700 block of Cataraqui.
Police say that a husband and wife were home painting their residence, and in effort to aid with ventilation, the front door was left open. The couple had music playing on an iPod in the front room while they painted a bedroom. The husband left the bedroom and discovered that two men had entered the residence through the front door and were standing in the front room.
The two men indicated that they wanted to help paint. The couple asked them to leave. The couple discovered that their iPod was missing. The suspects left the residence on foot towards Louis Avenue and Elliott Street.
Police were called and the suspects were located in the area of Howard Avenue and Elliott Street. As officers approached one of the suspects discarded a bright pink iPod. Both men were placed under arrest without incident.
Christopher Scott Thomas, 38 years of age of Windsor is charged with Break and Enter, Failing to Comply with Condition of Undertaking (not to communicate with Ronald Contreras), and Failing to comply with Condition of Undertaking (not to consume alcohol)
Ronald Contreras, 30 years of age of Windsor is charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property, Failing to Comply with Condition of Undertaking (not to communicate with Christopher Thomas), Failing to Comply with Condition of Undertaking (not to consume alcohol)
