A graduation ceremony for six firefighter recruits was held Thursday evening at the Caboto Club

Six new recruits from Windsor Fire & Rescue Services graduated to firefighters during a ceremony held at the Caboto Club, Thursday evening.

Graduates Joel Audet, Paul Harvey, Ennio Loconte, J. Adam Scott, Darren Timmermans and Bryan Walmsley received their badges, epaulettes and pledged to service the citizens of Windsor.

The recruits, who were selected from hundreds of applicants, spent months training in Windsor with Windsor Fire & Rescue Services equipment under the supervision of department training officers Paul Acton, Jamie Waffle and Jack Bailey.

Fire Chief Bruce Montone congratulated the new firefighters and reminded them of the need to always exceed expectations in their future years of service.

The new graduates were also made aware of which stations they will be working out of, starting this Sunday.
