Man Arrested For Possession Of Firearm

A 24-year-old Windsor man faces several charges after an investigation by the Windsor Police Drugs, Intelligence, Guns, Surveillance Unit.
Police say that they entered into an investigation regarding the possession of an illegal firearm, and applied for, and were granted, a warrant to search a residence in the 1000 block of Lake Laguna Court.
The subject of the investigation was arrested on Wednesday in the 4200 block of Casgrain Road without incident around 3:30pm. Hours later, just after 10pm, officers entered the Laguna Court residence, where they located a Cobray PM-11 9mm semi-automatic machine pistol with a high-capacity magazine loaded with nine rounds of ammunition in a basement bedroom.
Joshua Way, age 24 years of age of Windsor, is charged with possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a firearm with altered Serial number, possession of a prohibited firearm, improper storage of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited device (High Capacity Magazine Cartridge).
