The Essex County OPP have charged a former Crown Attorney with one county of ‘obtaining the sexual services of a prostitute’ after an investigation into an incident that they allege took place in September.

The OPP allege that Bruce Coates, a 62-year-old who worked as an assistant Crown Attorney at the Ontario Court of Justice in Downtown Windsor, “communicated with a prostitute for the purposes of obtaining sex” while “engaged in his employment as an assistant Crown Attorney”.

OPP say they received information that the accused allegedly participated in this behaviour on September 18th, 2012.

Coates will appear in court on February 26th to answer to the charge.
