19-Year-Old From Wheatley Charged After Crash Splits Vehicle In Half

The Essex County OPP have charged a 19 year old from Wheatley after a crash on Highway 3 near Kingsville on Saturday.

William Klassen has been charged with careless driving in the crash that took place on Saturday February 2nd around noon.

OPP say he was travelling westbound in his Pontiac Grand Am, on Highway 3 between Essex County Road 18 and Graham Side Road when he lost control and ended up sideways in the eastbound lane. At the same time, a Chrysler 200 was travelling eastbound on Highway 3, struck the Pontiac on the rear passenger door causing the vehicle to split in half.

A passenger in the Pontiac, as well as the two occupants of the Chrysler, were taken to hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries but have since been released.
