Man With Eight Outstanding Warrants Arrested On Sycamore Drive

Windsor Police have arrested a man wanted on eight outstanding warrants including charges of sexual assault, theft and robbery.

On Wednesday January 30th Windsor Police officers located the subject walking on Roseville Garden Drive near Charlie Brooks Court. The man fled on foot and was chased by officers. They say he was caught in the 2600 block of Sycamore where he actively resisted efforts by police to take him into custody.

As the man continued to resist, Police say a Sergeant at the scene deployed a Taser on the male. Although he still continued to struggle, officers were able to place him in handcuffs. Officers searching the male located a quantity of Benzodiazepine tablets.

The man was wanted in relation to a January 7th home invasion robbery that took place in the 1400 block of South Pacific.

Dwight Carvey, 39 years of age, of Windsor, was arrested on the authority of 8 arrest warrants for 15 Criminal Code charges including;

  • 4 counts of Robbery
  • 1 count of Sexual Assault
  • 4 counts of Assault
  • 1 count of Escape Lawful Custody
  • 2 counts of Theft
  • 1 count of Break and Enter
  • 1 count of Possession of Stolen Property
  • 1 count of Possession of Break and Enter Tools

Carvery faces additional charges in relation to his arrest including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Resisting Arrest.
