Windsor Police are investigating a robbery that happened at approximately 10:55am this morning in the rear alley behind 475 Tecumseh East.

Police say that an employee of The Lumberjack Restaurant was robbed as she was attempting to get into her vehicle with a deposit bag from the business.

They say that a male party approached her and grabbed for the bag. A struggle ensued and the victim was knocked to the ground. She was kicked several times and eventually lost her grasp on the bag. The suspect was last observed running Southbound in the alley behind the restaurant. The victim suffered minor non life threatening injuries including scrapes and abrasions. The suspect is described as being an ethnic light skinned male, 5’10” with a skinny build. He was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood on as well as dark pants.

Police are still on scene conducting a canvass as well as a K-9 ground search. Members of the Forensic Identification Branch are also gathering evidence. Investigators are exploring the possibility of the existence of video that may have captured the incident.
