Home Invaders Target The Wrong Home On Oak Street

The incident happened on Friday just before 4pm in the 1300 block of Oak Street. Police met with a 31 year old female victim and her 30 year old brother, also a victim. There was obvious signs of a struggle inside the residence.

Investigation has revealed that the male opened the front door after hearing the door bell. Two males were asking him if “Steve” was home. He advised that they had the wrong house. The door was suddenly forced open and three males entered the home and began assaulting the male. The victim remembers observing knives and a baseball bat. They were demanding cash and “ice” The victim was beaten unconscious and remembers waking in the living room to see his sister with the neighbour.

When the suspects first entered the residence the female victim was in the washroom. She recalls hearing a commotion with a lot of shouting and banging. Initially she could not get out of the bathroom because the suspects were holding the door shut. She attempted to flee by going out of the window. The suspects opened the bathroom door and grabbed her and dragged her to the living room. She was repeatedly kicked and punched. The suspects were insisting that they knew it was a “drug house”. One of the suspects yelled “we’re done” and the they all fled the scene taking a small amount of cash and The female fled to a neighbour to use a phone to call police.

Both victims were transported to hospital by ambulance. The male victim suffered a severely swollen face, a cut lip and a cut over his right eye. He may require dental surgery to fix his teeth. His teeth were pushed back in his mouth. The female had bumps on her head and bruising on both arms, bloody nose, and a cut on her forearm. The injuries to both victims are not considered to be life threatening.

Police are satisfied that the victims in this attack were wrongly targeted by the suspects.

Witnesses were able to obtain descriptions of the suspects. One of the suspects had prominent bruising on his face including a black right eye.


1) Male white, 5’8″ 20-25 years of age, dirty blonde hair, brush cut. scars on face and substantial bruising around cheek and right eye. Wearing a grey jacket, dark clothing including a dark sweater.

2) Male white, 20-25 years of age

3) Male black, 20-25 years of age, light complexion wearing a baseball cap, may have had a lead pipe.

4) Male middle eastern, 20-25 years, 5’5″, black hat, dark clothing, stocky build, had a large knife.


Ontario plates on a newer model metallic green vehicle.
