Windsor Drunk Driver Takes Out Light Pole In Lakeshore

A 24 year old Windsor man is facing several charges after an evening of drinking.
On December 18th around 3:20am, Lakeshore OPP were advised of a light pole down at the intersection of County Road 22 and East Pike Creek Road. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that a Pontiac Grand Prix had struck the pole, and came to a rest around 200m from the intersection. The vehicle was abandoned.
While officers were investigating, the owner of the Grand Prix called to report it had been stolen approximately 2 hours prior.
An OPP officer on patrol in the area located a male with a bloody face walking away from the scene of the crash. The male had the keys to the Grand Prix in his possession.
Steven Easter of Windsor has been charged with the following offences:
- Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Exceed 80 Milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fail to Remain
He will appear in a Windsor court on February 5, 2013.
