Windsor Woman Killed on Ontario Highway by Impaired Driver

A 47-year-old Windsor woman was killed on the 407 in the region of Halton Saturday evening.

OPP say that just after 9pm, a Mazda 3 was travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Hwy 407 from Trafalgar Road and collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla.

The 47-year-old male driver of the Corolla was transported to Hospital with minor injuries. Carol Grimmond age 47 years of age from Windsor, the passenger in the Corolla was transported to Credit Valley Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The female driver of the Mazda 3, Mary Sampson, aged 55 years of age from Oakville Ontario was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.

She sustained no injuries in the collision and has been charged with impaired driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
