Windsor Man Charged with Impaired Driving in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have charged a Windsor man with impaired driving.

Police say that just before 9pm Sunday evening, they were called to the area of Queens Line for a  report of an erratic driver.  Police found a vehicle travelling 112km/hr in a posted 90 km/hr zone while crossing the centre line several times.  A traffic stop was initiated and through investigation believed that the man was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

The 26-year-old Windsor man has been charged with having a blood alcohol limit exceeding the legal limit. He will be held until sober and then released pending a future court date.

His vehicle was towed from the scene in accordance with the Road Safety Act which is a 7-Day Vehicle Impoundment Program.
