Windsor Police have arrested a man after a strange incident took place on Sunday in a residence at the University of Windsor.

On Sunday October 7th at approximately 5:15am, a female resident of MacDonald Hall returned and a male snuck into the secured building behind her before she could lock the door. The male immediately began a conversation with the female and indicated that he was there to visit someone on the 7th floor.

In an effort to avoid the male, the female took the stairs instead of riding up on the elevator with him and went to her room. She left her room briefly to use the washroom and when she returned, she observed the same man in her room.

The female screamed and the male fled on foot.

The male was described as being white, 40-50 years of age, about 5’5″ – 5’7″, slim build with no teeth wearing dark jeans and white runners as well as a green coat with white stripes under each arm and a black baseball cap that had a red peak.

Utilizing surveillance footage from the building, University of Windsor Campus Police and Windsor Police Detectives were able to positively identify the wanted male. Detectives attended his residence and arrested him without incident.

A 43 year old Windsor man is expected to appear in court tomorrow morning charged with Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling.
