Windsor Police have a man in custody after a vicious baseball bat beating — the second this weekend — that occurred in the Remington Park area.
On Sunday, October 21st, Windsor Police responded to the area of 600 South Pacific for a report of a male assaulted with a baseball bat.
Officers spoke to the 26 year old male victim who reported he was visiting a friend on the street.
Upon leaving his friend’s house, he got into a verbal altercation with the downstairs resident of his friend’s house. The altercation turned physical when the downstairs neighbour exited his residence and struck the victim several times with a baseball bat.
Police confirmed that two neighbours, who assisted the victim following the assault, were also threatened by the suspect. Shortly after the assault, police report that the suspect fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Earlier this morning, the suspect, a 27 year old male of Windsor, turned himself in to Windsor Police and faces charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and two counts of uttering threats.
