Woman Shot With Pellet Gun at Ouellette and Elliott

On Monday September 24th at approximately 12:10am Windsor Police received a 911 call from a woman indicating she had been shot while riding her bicycle in the area of Ouellette Avenue and Elliott Street in Downtown Windsor.

Police arrived in the area and located the 37 year old victim. She had a fresh, bloodied injury to her left leg above the knee.

Despite the wound, the victim did not require serious medical attention.

Police say investigation has revealed that the victim was riding her bicycle South on Ouellette on the West side of the street. She indicated that she felt a sudden sharp pain in her left leg.

She immediately stopped her bicycle and looked around. She observed shadows of people peering out from an apartment window in the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue. She then called 911.

After Police cared for her at the scene, they visited the nearby apartment unit and spoke with four occupants on the third floor. Police observed an open box of pellets on the ledge by the balcony door. Police located and seized a quantity of cocaine and marihuana from the suspect’s pockets during a search. Police also seized a pellet rifle from the unit.

A 20 year old Windsor man faces charges of:

Assault with a Weapon
Careless Use of a Firearm
Pointing a Firearm
Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Cocaine)
Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marihuana)
