This past Saturday on the corner of University Avenue West and Victoria the fourth annual Phog Phest event took place.

This twelve-hour outdoor festival is put on by Phog Lounge, and featured local and out of town musical acts.

Bands playing included Learning, Cells, Gypsy Chief Goliath, Cobra and Vulture (from Montreal), Club Thunderbolt, The Unquiet Dead, Vultures?, New Country Rehab (from Toronto), James O-L and the Villains, and Rural Alberta Advantage. The day opened with sets from the Jam Space Jam Academy bands 9 Volt, 24 Sussex, Arcadia, Jinx, Lawless, Lost Weekend, and Tremors.

With the opportunity to see a new mural spray painted on Phog’s western exterior wall, the chance to see who can throw a rubber boot the farthest, and these fantastic musicians playing throughout the day, festival attendees were guaranteed to have a good time.

The entire day things were right on schedule, thanks to the stage management stylings of George Manury. With sound and lighting handled by Marz Media the performers looked great and sounded even better.

Frank, Tom, and their horde of volunteers did a spectacular job on the whole event, high-fives to all of them for that one.
