Windsor Police have a suspect in custody after a man responsible for a machete attack turned himself in.
On Sunday June 24th just before 3:30am, Police were dispatched to the area of Hall and Hanna Streets for reports of an assault with a weapon. Officers found a man lying in the street with a serious injury to his head. EMS transported the man to Hotel Dieu Hospital where his condition is considered critical. A second male victim received a smaller laceration across his back in the shoulder area. A third man who was attacked received no injuries in the assault.
Police investigated and learned that a woman was also attacked at a house on Hall earlier in the night.
The female victim notified her family about the assault and at least one of her family members and two acquaintances visited a residence on Hall Avenue to speak to the male who assaulted the female.
An argument ensued and the male residing at the residence attacked the 3 men with a machete outside of the home.
Just after midnight this morning the man wanted in connection with the assaults turned himself in at Windsor Police Headquarters and was arrested without incident. The weapon has still not been found.
The man is expected to be arraigned in court today.
