Two Windsor Men Charged After ‘Chop Shop’ Bust

Windsor Police have laid charges of Possession of Stolen Property against two Windsor men after a search warrant was executed at an Auto Repair shop in the 1100 block of Crawford Ave Tuesday afternoon.
On Monday April 9th, police received information that a 2010 BMW X6 was currently at “All Star Auto” located at 1178 Crawford Avenue and was going to be stripped (or chopped) for parts. At 9:45pm on Monday evening, officers received information from Laval Police in Quebec that the vehicle had been reported stolen by the registered owner. Officers later attended attended 1178 Crawford Monday evening, and observed two men leaving the business. Police also saw through a window of the building what appeared to be a frame of a 2010 BMW X6 inside the business.
Officers identified the two men seen leaving the premises and through further investigation were able to associate them to the business. On Tuesday at 6am, police arrested one of the men associated to the business as he arrived at the building, and shortly after at 9am officers arrested the brother of the first man as he was driving in the 1300 block of Crawford Ave.
Then at 3pm police executed a search warrant at 1178 Crawford and located and seized the frame of the 2010 BMW X6 which had been reported stolen in Laval, Quebec on the previous day. Officers also located and seized many of the parts which had been stripped off the vehicle.
Khalil Abdulsater aged 34 years, and his brother Rida Abdulsater aged 19 years, both of Windsor are each facing a charge of Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5000.
