Windsor Fire was called to the Ouellette Manor apartments late Friday evening for a 17th floor laundry room fire.  A couch had caught fire, but was put out quickly.  Heavy smoke persisted in the building for some time; no one was injured.

Thursday night, a fire on the roof of the Bell Building downtown lit up the night sky.  Officials report that the cause of the fire, while yet undetermined, appears to have started in an area where workers were working on a generator.

A 22-year-old driver was charged with “Driving While Under Suspension” and “Performing a Stunt on a Highway” after being clocked at going 130 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in South Windsor. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Police were called to a break and enter in progress to “Exclusive Clothing” located in the 4800 block of Tecumseh Road East early Tuesday morning.   Police received information that two males had smashed the front window of the business.  The males took off, but got stuck in a construction zone on Plymouth Drive.  One suspect was arrested; the other remains at large.

The City of Windsor released its “Sunshine List” on Friday.  This list show which city employees made over 100 thousand dollars in 2011.

Beaverfest announced its lineup for this year’s summer festival the first weekend of June.  Among those scheduled to play are Puddle of Mudd and The Trews.

Spring returned to Windsor this week!  All over the city trees are starting to bloom and tulips and lilies are opening up.
