Windsor Police Seize $24k in Drugs

Police executed a search warrant 2641 Dominion Blvd. Officers located and seized small quantities of cocaine, cannabis marihuana, and methadone.

A Windsor man is facing an array of drug related charges after a vehicle stop and the execution of a search warrant at his home on Friday evening.

Windsor Police Officers assigned to the PAVIS – Provincial Anti Violence Initiative Strategy – Unit received information that 30 year old man previously known to them had travelled to Toronto to pick up a large quantity of cocaine to sell in the Windsor area, and that information received indicated that the man was currently driving back from Toronto on Highway 401.

At 5:40pm on Friday, plainclothes officers from the PAVIS Unit observed the suspect’s vehicle westbound on Highway 401 near the Belle River Road exit marker.

Officers followed the vehicle as it exited Hwy 401 at the Puce Road exit and then continued southbound to the town of Essex. Officers stopped the vehicle as it arrived at an address in the 200 block of Victoria Avenue in the town of Essex.

Officers arrested the 30 year old driver of the vehicle and also observed a 13 year old male passenger later identified as a family member of the driver also seated in the vehicle. The 13 year old was later turned over to family members.

A search of the Chrysler 300M revealed 228 grams of powder Cocaine, a quantity of oxycodone tablets and cash inside a gym bag on the rear seat of the vehicle. Officers seized these items.

Officers then attended the suspect’s residence located at 2641 Dominion Blvd. in Windsor and executed a search warrant at the home. At this location, officers located and seized small quantities of cocaine, cannabis marihuana, and methadone. The value of the seized drugs from both the vehicle and the residence totalled $23,553. Officers also seized a quantity of cash.

Jeremy Markam, aged 30 years of Windsor is charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
