Drug Charges Laid After Dawson Street Raid

Two men are facing drug related charges after Windsor Police executed a search warrant on the city’s east side yesterday evening. At 7pm on Thursday, December 22nd, officers from the Windsor Police Drugs and Guns Unit in company with officers from the Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located at 1032 Dawson Rd.

Upon entry, officers located the occupant of the home seated in the living room where he was arrested without incident. A search of the home revealed 4.5 grams of cocaine and 92 grams of cannabis marihuana which was seized by the officers. Officers also seized a quantity of cash and a digital scale.

While the officers were executing the search warrant, a friend of the occupant attended the home and entered through the front door where he was also arrested without incident. A subsequent search of his person revealed a plastic bag containing 27 grams of cocaine and a quantity of cash.

The value of the seized drugs totalled approximately $4000.

James Michael Blanchette, 41 years of Windsor is charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Saso Tomoski, 29 years of Belle River is charged with Possession of a controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
