Police Still Looking for Murder Weapon in Windsor’s First Murder in Two Years

Windsor Police are continuing to investigate a homicide which occurred last evening at approximately 11:00 p.m. in the 1400 block of Albert Road in the City’s east end. A 40 year old man was stabbed to death.  The victim was a Windsor resident and his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The homicide is being investigated by the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit and is currently ongoing.  Investigators will be conducting search warrants at a number of locations today.

Windsor Police arrested a 30 year old male suspect this morning at 7:00 a.m. at Windsor Police Headquarters.  He is currently in custody and he will appear in Provincial Court later this afternoon where he will be arraigned on a charge of First Degree Murder.

Windsor Police have not recovered the weapon that was used in the homicide.

Police would like to assure the citizens of Windsor that there are no continuing public safety issues as a result of this incident and we are not looking for any other suspects in this homicide.
