Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship Shawinigan will be in Windsor today and tomorrow at Dieppe Gardens.
The stop is part of the Canadian Navy’s (MARCOM) Great Lakes Deployment, which is the deployment of a Navy frigate and two maritime coastal defence vessels to selected ports along the St. Lawrence Seaway and Lake Ontario.
The program’s aim is to provide an opportunity for Canadians in cities along the way to tour the ships and discover career opportunities available with the Canadian Forces.
You will be able to climb aboard the ship and speak with sailors, ask questions and hear their heroic, heart-warming and inspiring stories from deployments around the world.
Two ship tours are scheduled for today from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Thursday, tours run from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
