Windsorites, did you know we have a Windsor Police memorial on our Riverfront? Many of us have probably walked right over it and not even noticed it.

Built into the brick walkway between Dieppe Gardens and the Festival Plaza just past the Spirit of Windsor train is a small memorial for four Windsor Police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

Constable Davie Beckett, Constable Francis Graham, Constable George Smith and Sr. Constable John Atkinson were all killed in the line of duty and are remembered at this simple memorial.

Next time your out for a walk along the Riverfront Downtown, look for this memorial and stop and remember the good our local law enforcement have done for us!
