Windsor Police have three men in custody and are currently searching for a woman in the city’s west side after officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle this afternoon. At 12:33 p.m. today, Windsor Police officers spotted a 2002 Dodge Neon westbound on College Ave near California Avenue. The Neon had been reported stolen from the 2600 block of Howard Avenue on yesterday’s date. Police attempted to stop the vehicle as it approached Huron Church Road but the driver refused to stop, continuing west on College Avenue at a high rate of speed. Police followed the stolen vehicle at a distance as it turned west onto Prince Road. As the vehicle approached Queen Street three men and a woman jumped out of the car. Two men were arrested immediately at the scene but the male driver and the woman fled from the car on foot. Officers flooded the area and searched for both persons. Officers eventually located the male driver of the stolen vehicle as he attempted to hide in some bushes near Ojibway Parkway at Broadway Street. He was arrested at this location. As of 2:15 pm today, the female is still outstanding and was last seen running westbound from the scene. She is described as a white female, approximately 30 years old, 5’6″, 130 lbs with long brown hair pulled back in a pony tail. She was wearing blue jean shorts and a pink tube top. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending. Anyone with any information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the female is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830, Windsor Police Communications at 519-259-6111 or anonymously to Crime stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).
