Big names in local dining came together Friday night to participate in the 25th Annual Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Essex County’s Battle of the Hors d’Oeuvres at the Ciociaro Club.
Four restaurants, two hospitality venues and two highschools competed for their shot at being proclaimed as the best creators of pre-dinner delicacies in Essex County. The event began with a red carpet reception, wine tastings from five local wineries and a champagne toast to celebrate 25 years of hosting the event.
Each team prepared an hors d’oeuvre for judging by both professional critics and the general attendance alike. Teams battled it out in the kitchen to meet deadlines and assemble their complex creations.
After tastings, antipasto, and more hors d’oeuvre tastings, the results were in and three establishments took home six awards.
