If you know us at windsoriteDOTca, you know we’re always super excited to see new local blogs about Windsor!

Elaine Weeks, one-half of the publishing team of The Walkerville Times, recently started a new blog dedicated to “document how Windsor looks today and highlight which old buildings and streetscapes have managed to escape that busy wrecking ball.”

Weeks says it’s been four years since The Times published an issue, and because of financial reasons she doesn’t plan on restarting it, however she says “while I was walking around Walkerville during a very welcome February thaw, it hit me. I would do a blog.”

“We have lots of stories and photos we never got a chance to use in our print publications and we may recycle some old favorites. I imagine Windsor Then Windsor Now will constantly evolve and it will always have lots of photos, old and new. People are fascinated with old photos of their city.” says Weeks on her blog.

Windsor Then Windsor Now recently featured the opening of King Edward School, photos from a parade on Ouellette from 1905, and photos from the 2003 fire that destroyed a block of old shops in Walkerville.
