Ron Gaudet, CEO of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation and Chris Ryan, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island will appear before council to give an update on potential sites for their organization offices.  One rumoured site has been on the campus of the University of Windsor.

Council is being asked to approve the hiring of R.C Spencer Associates Inc. to design, prepare drawings and carry out the contract administration of the Walker Road corridor from Division Road to Digby Street.  The Province of Ontario is contributing $15 million towards this as part of the “Lets Get Windsor-Essex Moving” agreement.  An Environment Study Report of this stretch was completed in 2001 which recommends Walker become a five-lane road from Grand Marais East to Division.  That study can be viewed here.

The Windsor Heritage Committee is handing out money to repair many heritage buildings in the City.  The City of Windsor has asked for a grant of $235,000 to replace the roof at Mackenzie Hall with slate.  Council will be asked in return to reimburse the Community Heritage Fund with $20,000 for ten years in addition to the existing funding they already provide.  The Mason-Girardot House at 3203 Peter is receiving a grant for $945 and a loan for $2,835 to carry out repairs to the porch.  Holy Ghost Romanian Orthodox Church will get a grant for $1,215 to carry out repairs at the church located at 2895 Seminole.  Mount Zion Full Gospel Church will receive money for emergency stabilization to the building at 795 McDougall- they will receive a grant of $25,000 and a loan of $25,000.
