The International Fringe Festival has been going on for a week already, and if you haven’t had the chance to check out any of the off-site art exhibits, your best chance to see them is coming up on Saturday, July 24th.

Two free “Visual Fringe” walking tours are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, where you can stroll the downtown streets with a knowledgeable guide and check out the scattered exhibits located in various storefronts. Nasseme Albonaimi and Jonathan Liedtk, both coordinators of the festival, will begin the walking tours at the Artcite Gallery (109 University Ave. West) and participants will meander down to Ouellette and then back along Pelissier.

From the festival website, a blurb describing “Visual Fringe”:

An ambitious, multi-artist, multi-media, mult-venue, cross-border series of public art displays that will be mounted in downtown Windsor storefronts and other public spaces, Artcite’s ‘Visual Fringe’ project will feature a variety of contemporary artworks (from the purely fun to the thoughtful and thought-provoking) by talented emerging and established Windsor and Detroit area visual artists.

One tour will start at 1:30pm, and another at 4pm. The guides will stop at each installation and share insight on the display, and some of the artists will be on hand to talk about their work and answer questions. Each of the tours will also make a stop at the Printhouse Gallery (510 Pelissier) for the Yart Sale, a BBQ/concert/art show/sale hosted by Windsor artist Dan Bombardier.
