Children Struck by Cars in Two Separate Incidents; Hit & Run Occurs in South Windsor

Windsor Police investigate a collision involving a car striking a 2 year old girl on Elliot Street and Mercer.

A large group of people gather around the location where a 2 year old girl was struck by a vehicle.

The first collision occurred at the intersection of Lauzon Parkway and Lauzon Line around 4pm when a boy around the age of 12 was struck by a vehicle near the pedestrian crossing. The boy was taken away by ambulance and injuries appear to be non-life threatening. Police moved the vehicle involved and a witness vehicle into a nearby parking lot for questioning.

The second collision occurred at the intersection of Elliot and Mercer around 6:50pm when a two-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle. Windsor Fire & Rescue and EMS arrived on scene in moments. The fire captain of Engine 1 called for immediate police backup as many of the family members and relatives of the child struck crowded around the accident scene and became hostile towards the motorist. The child was treated by EMS and taken to hospital with unknown injuries. Police remained on scene for over an hour as they questioned witnesses.

Woman Struck by Hit and Run Driver

A female was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Granada and Cabana around 8pm Tuesday evening. The driver drove off immediately without checking on her well being. The woman was treated by EMS. The suspect vehicle is described as a gray Toyota bearing Quebec license plates. It was operated by a male with a female passenger.

Another hit and run occurred occurred between 2 vehicles at Tecumseh Road and Dougall around 5:20pm. A red Chevy Trail Blazer bearing partial Ontario license plate “BF” struck a another vehicle and was last seen heading towards the intersection of Tecumseh and Ouellette.
