Tecumseh Laser Centre owner Joanne Duff began her career in the field of real estate when her husband asked her to change careers.

“We missed having dinner together and having a social life, so I absolutely agreed,” recalls Duff.

So how did Duff go from selling homes to selling treatments? “My husband took his shirt off and I blurted out ‘Whoa, you really need some laser…’,” laughs Duff.

“A lightbulb went off in my head, I knew I could definitely do that.”

A few seminars here, some machine-buying there, and Tecumseh Laser Centre was born.

What started as a new addition to the household of the Duff’s turned into a 10-year (and counting) strong business in Tecumseh.

Now onto a new location from Riverside Drive to Lesperance Road, Duff and TLC offer a wide-variety of treatments including (but not limited to) hair and vein removal, skin tightening, and fat reduction laser therapy.

Featured in the building is Samyoga, a unique-style to mind and body yoga brought to you by Duff’s daughter, Samantha. Also featured is Ocean Bottom Soap Company, which sells hand-crafted soaps using natural and organic ingredients. Soon to be added is Aura Hair Salon.

“I’m always looking for the new and latest thing, that’s what makes this business so fascinating,” Duff explained.

“I love providing these services that make the community feel good about themselves, and the new technology is what differentiates us from other centres.”

An example Duff provided was a record setter in the centre: 16 and 1/2 inches were lost during a fat reduction laser Zerona procedure on a client. “We were all blown away, and we want to provide these services for those who wish to have it.”
