Public Art commissions are a great way for artists to make a lasting contribution to public spaces, this Art.Work workshop will take participants through the process from start to finish.

Topics covered include: Finding opportunities, Applications, Collaboration, Budgets, Project Management, and Legacy.

After registering participants will be provided with two examples of actual Public Commission calls, and are asked to consider them in advance of the workshop. Time will be set aside at the end of the workshop for a group discussion of the mocked up proposals. Proposals do not need to be completed, just bring a sketch, a maquette or some ideas of how you would approach the space. No additional materials are required.

The workshop will be lead by local artist Rory O’connor has exhibited her work across Canada. She received a BFA from the University of Windsor, and and MFA from the University of Alberta. Rory has designed public art works in Canada and France.

This workshop is limited to 15 participants – register soon to avoid disappointment!
