A new business in Lakeshore is set to lay down roots in the community and expand on an already successful dental practice on Lauzon Parkway.

Emeryville Family Dental, which started serving patients in early November, 2017, is the second local dental practice to be opened by Dr. Peter Siedlakowski following the growth of Parkway Family Dental, and the first for Dr. Ali Al Safi.

Al Safi was raised in Windsor, attended Wayne State University, and traveled to Melbourne, Australia to complete his education in 2014. While at the University of Melbourne’s dental program he developed a passion for dental surgery.

“[In Australia] you start clinicals second year, over here you start clinicals fourth year, so by my third year I was up in the surgery room,” says Al Safi. “We had to place implants, do bone grafts, do wisdom teeth, and we were just students. It gave us a chance to see the results of our work.”

“As part of our program, we had to keep calling the patient to ensure we did things right or wrong, and made a difference,” he said.

Al Safi chose Emeryville for his practice instead of a bigger city after working in Stratford for two years because he wanted to deliver more personalized patient experiences.

He says patients from Dr. Pete’s practice, Parkway Family Dental, will be able to go to either location, and vice-versa, and both dentists will offer the same services.

Al Safi says keeping things affordable is important for patients and Emeryville Family Dental strives to do so. They accept all major forms of insurance as well.
