A passion for making beautiful things is what drove owner Shelley Hicks to open C Shells Decorium (4729 Wyandotte Street East).

The home décor and unique gift boutique opened its doors in June 2014 and is full of whimsical home furnishings, including re-purposed furniture, and home décor items featuring mermaids, whales, bird cages, owls, and more. Business has been good and the shop has recently added additional retail space.

Newly finished pieces of re-purposed furniture featuring fresh coats of paint and unique finishing touches are frequently being added to the sales floor. If you have an old piece of furniture that needs to be revamped, C Shells Decorium also takes on commissioned pieces.

The majority of the items in the store are handmade – from brightly coloured “shabby chic-aliers”, to handmade bars of soap, and decorative wall décor. For the young (and young at heart) there are the quirky “Stupid Sock Monsters” – all of which come with their own name and little story.

If you have trouble making it in during their regular shopping hours you can book a shopping party for you and a group of friends for a private after hours shopping experience – and private parties receive 10% off everything storewide.

C Shells Decorium is located at 4729 Wyandotte Street East and can be contacted by calling 519-915-4917. They are open Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 5pm and Saturdays from 10am – 4pm. You can also visit their Facebook page for more information and updates.
