Environment Canada warns that significant rainfall and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and this evening.

Some of the thunderstorms are likely to be quite strong and produce torrential downpours. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm are likely. However, some areas near Lake Erie may locally see in excess of 50 mm due to intense thunderstorm activity.

Strong winds and small hail are possible with some of these thunderstorms. However, severe thunderstorms are expected to remain south of the international border.

Drier weather will move in later tonight as the low pressure system responsible moves out of the area.
